Lab Overview

Lots of interesting tidbits about this record, but lets start with the music. DUMP is the solo side project from James Mcnew, bass player of Yo La Tengo. For "NYC Tonight," McNew brings back that '79 disco vibe and lays it on a cover of the GG Allin (aka "the most spectacular degenerate in rock & roll history") song of the same name. Quite a feat, but he totally makes it work! The track will easily get itself stuck in your head with it's catchy laidback lyrics, swingy melodies, and subtle-y stomping disco beat. Flip side features a collab remix by Shintaro Sakamoto (ex-Yura-Yura Teikoku) with instrumentals for both. Pressed up in SAM style disco sleeve with free MP3 download. Manufactured by Presspop, the guys who brought you the Lee Perry doll!
