  • Debut album from the Scottish post-punkers. Orange Juice led the way for what their label cheekily called "Sound Of Young Scotland." They released a number of singles on Glasgow's Postcard Records before being signed to Polydor. Those singles, along with some newly recorded material, were collected for their debut, You Can't Hide Your Love Forever. Their sound on this album is melancholic, jangly indie pop, which they seem to be inventing with every song. Edwyn Collins' perpetually congested vocals tell tales of loves won and lost as the band plays one. Check "Falling and Laughing," "Wan Light," their cover of Al Green's "L-O-V-E (Love)," the upbeat "Three Cheers For Our Side" and album closer, "In A Nutshell." Limited edition 180 gram repress.
