Where have all the cowboys gone? Red Dead Redemption 2 is the latest from Rockstar games, the developers that brought us Grand Theft Auto. Rockstar has been thoroughly praised for the thoughtful and innovative curation of the music in its games, highlights include a virtual radio station hosted by Flying Lotus and an in-game appearance from The Black Madonna. The game is a cultural force in the mainstream, as well - the initial version of "Old Town Road" by Lil Nas X featured a homemade video made from in-game footage. The story of the game is set in 1889 in a fictionalized pastiche of the American midwest, as the player struggles against government forces, rival gangs, and the overall decline of the pre-dustbowl Plains. The soundtrack was produced by Grammy winner Daniel Lanois (Bob Dylan, Neil Young, in addition to several collaborations with Eno and U2, including The Joshua Tree), and features several tracks penned and performed by him. Also includes an exclusive track by D’Angelo and two versions of “Cruel World”, one sung by Willie Nelson, one by Josh Homme (QOTSA). This LP is pressed on double translucent red vinyl and packaged in a gatefold sleeve.
