I can't believe it's been more than 10 years since the White Stripes released this album. Just the other day I was listening to "Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground" in my girlfriend's car and hearing the sounds of "We're Going To Be Friends" coming from that nostalgic scene from the Napoleon Dynamite movie and wondering what to do after college. Fast forward a decade, and now the band has collaborated with everyone from Beck to Alicia Keys, Jack White's band the Raconteurs have reached a admirable success of their own (as well as the Dead Leaves), and the fact that last year Jack White was featured in a movie called It Might Get Loud, where he talks electric guitars with legends Jimmy Page and The Edge, I think it's a perfect time for this 180 gram repress. It also comes with a heavy duty full color sleeve. Besides the other big songs, "Hotel Yorba" and "Fell in Love With a Girl" the whole album really shows their mastery and range of bare bones rock. Recommended.
