Saturday Club, The Joe Loss Pop Show, and Blues In Rhythm are some of the BBC shows that The Rolling Stones appeared on in the early '60s. On Air collects 18 recordings sourced from the performances, and the LP is a unique look into the formative days of the iconic band that was at the forefront of the British Invasion. Musically, this is where it all started for the Stones; blues, r&b, and even country influences run amok. In addition to originals such as "Come On," "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction," "the Last Time," and "The Spider and the Fly," the group covers songs by Chuck Berry ("Memphis, Tennessee," "Roll Over Beethoven,"), and Bo Diddley ("Cops and Robbers"), and it's important to note that some of the tracks have never been recorded or released commercially. Lastly, the tracks have been put through a audio source separation, for which the recordings from the BBC archives were de-mixed the rebuilt & remastered for a fuller sound.
