Midnight Express' "Danger Zone" is easily our best selling PPU record of all-time, and one of the finest boogie grooves ever put down on wax. No joke. From that irresistible bass line, those slapping drums, the horns, and even the vocals - it's an undeniable dancefloor sure shot. This 2019 reissue is presented on limited edition translucent red vinyl, and pressed at 45 RPM for maximum bump. Not only do you get the monster original 45 version, but you also get an instrumental edit by Tom Noble, and a special remix long version by Andrew Morgan. Essential. Our vintage Lab review from when the original 2008 reissue was released:
I first heard "Danger Zone" at APT during Dam-Funk's boogie set (it's a good thing D-F always shouts out all the record info over his set or I would've never known what the hell this track was). This track was just killing with the funk! Being the boogie fiend (nerd) that I am, I went to look for the track on the interweb only to find that it was a rare as hell 45 that went for $250! Too rich for my blood. Fast forward a month later and I come across the same track on the bay on 12" for like $12 buy-it-now! How could this be you ask? Well, apparently the good folks at Peoples Potential Unlimited decided to reissue this gem on proper 12" format for the first time ever. This is authentic, prime time boogie material people. Don't sleep on it. Printed with a replica of the original Tri-Fire label.
