Super deluxe pressing of the Wild Style breakbeats! The Wild Style Breakbeats are a holy grail of early hip-hop artifacts. Different from the original Wild Style soundtrack, these Breakbeats were created specifically for the DJ's in the film (including Grandwizzard Theodore, Charlie Chase and Kevie Kev Rockwell) to use during the live performance scenes. According to producer Fab 5 Freddy, only 100 white labels were ever pressed (and only five of the thirteen recorded tracks ever used in the film or appeared on the soundtrack) making them some of the rarest pieces of wax in hip hop history. Fast forward to the present and renowned DJ, producer, and Wild Style fanatic Kenny Dope has acquired the original reel-to-reel tapes from director Charlie Ahearn and has lovingly extended, re-EQ'd, and re-edited the breakbeats in this premium 45 set. This is the first official release of the Wildstyle breakbeats and we couldn't be more stoked about it! All 13 breaks are presented here in deluxe 7" format, spread over 7 45's (with Wild Style etching on the B-side of the 7th 45) and packaged in a special 28 page "Kay-Dee Case Book" featuring extensive liner notes along with numerous photos and interviews from key Wild Style figures including Charlie Ahearn, Fab 5 Freddy, Grandwizzard Theodore and more. Essential. Recommended (duh!).
