FLEET FOXES WON OVER FANS AND CRITICS WITH THEIR EPONYMOUS DEBUT IN 2008. Their unique brand of folk rock, replete with harmony-rich songs that were indebted to Crosby, Stills & Nash, provided a breath of fresh air from the dance rock that filled the indie world at the time. Their Sun Giant EP was recorded a little later but pressed up so they would have something for fans while the band was on tour. Their music is filled with country guitars and the occasional mandolin, along with the vocal harmonies that came to define their sound. Fleet Foxes was placed at the top of many year-end lists while helping to reshape the indie rock landscape. Their use of a detail of the 1559 painting Netherlandish Proverbs by Pieter Bruegel the Elder even claimed the Best Art Vinyl Award in 2008. Deluxe reissue housed in a heavy duty tip-on gatefold sleeve. Includes the Sun Giant EP, printed inserts and download code.
