Lab Overview

Early Jungle Brothers vinyl is quiet as hell, especially those pesky single LP pressings. Enter this double vinyl reissue, adding some punch to the almost-lost-status sophomore album from 1989. While Straight Out The Jungle is the album most people reference the JBs with, I have to say that Done By The Forces of Nature is superior musically, lyrically and spiritually. The audio samples here will give you an idea of the versatility that the JBs brought behind the boards. They built on the eclectic style of Straight Out The Jungle with more bass heavy hip hop, the semi-house joints that we all know and love (represented here with "What U Waitin For") and a general solid message of positivity. "Good Newz Comin" picks up where "Sounds of the Safari" left off, an African vibed mega-mix that really sets the level for the whole album. The whole Native crew comes on for "Doin Our Own Dang," much lesser known than "Buddy" but level on the goodness. The Baby Bam beat on "Jbeez Comin Through" is one of my favorites- piano loop perfection. Also includes "Feelin Alright," "U Make Me Sweat," "Beeds On a Strin," and listens extremely well all the way through. Fill your Native Tongue hole.
