I'll let you in on one of my secrets: "In Particular" is a badass piece of pop / hgsob / indie-rock / dance ass. The instrumentation is wicked (produced by Fugazi's Guy Picciotto), and features this Japanese girl with a French accent singing about who knows what. It's infectious. The rest of the album is your above average indie rock album, alternating between the Pace brothers' vocals and the aforementioned Kazu. If you like her (I do), check out tracks like "Mother," "This is Not," and "Melody of Certain Three." Originally released in 2000, this has been getting increasing indie acclaim, so be in the know. 10 tracks in all (sidenote: if you like "In Particular" look for the Mélodie Citronique EP that features the French version). This pressing features haunting bonus cut "For The Damaged Coda" (not listed on the sleeve), which strangely has been getting played on episodes of Rick And Morty. Recommended.
