Lab Overview

"Kick, Push" and "I Gotcha" on here, and the 2006 album from the Chicago rapper is reissued to celebrate 75 years of Atlantic Records. Lupe Fiasco is probably one of the best rappers to emerge from the time, and Food & Liquor, which leaked about two months before the official drop date, was a smash with the critics & fans. After appearing on Kanye West's "Touch the Sky" from Late Registration, the MC started garnering attention (Jay-Z was a fan), and his skateboard/conscious/muslim persona quickly caught on with the masses. He is dexterous and has a silky flow, and he is able to show how versatile he is on this debut album. In addition to the two aforementioned tracks, check out "Daydreamin" featuring Jill Scott, "Hurt Me Soul," "Sunshine," and "Pressure" featuring Jay-Z.
