I'm Coming!! Get On Down back with a welcome reissue of the 2nd Funky People compilation from 1988. For those unfamiliar, consider this a "best of" from the baddest acts on James Brown's' People label, following 1986's Part 1. So many funk classics on this piece including 2 scorchers from Bobby Byrd: "I Know You Got Soul" and "Hot Pants (I'm Coming, Coming, I'm Coming)," plus Maceo & The Macks'' "Soul Power '74" and more from usual suspects Lyn Collins ("Do Your Thing," "Put It On The Line"), Fred Wesley & The J.B.'s ("You Can Have Watergate But Gimme Some Bucks And I'll Be Straight," "I'm Paying Taxes What Am I Buying?"), Hank Ballard, Marva Whitney and much more. Essential material for the funk enthusiast. Quality pressing as usual from G.O.D., housed in gatefold sleeve with detailed liner notes and obi strip.
