10th anniversary reissue on colored vinyl with 6 previously unreleased bonus tracks. Here's our original review from 2010:
Lush downtempo beats from LA-by way-of-NY's Teebs on FlyLo's Brainfeeder label. Already being very impressed by the 3 track single that was released previously, I had high expectations for Ardour and Teebs delivers in aces. The entire full length is doused in a distinctively laid back and hazy vibe, but executed in a new school fashion. There's a familiar bump to the tracks that resonates from peers like Flying Lotus, Take, Daedalus and other LA beatsmiths, but what makes Teebs different is his delicate and relaxing choice of sounds and melodies (which he flips and loops into beautiful hip-hop daydreams). Check the sound on pretty much any of the tracks and you'll find it is thoughtful and soothing. Highlights include "Arthur's Birds," "Double Fifths," "Bern Rhythm," "Why Like This," "Humming Birds," "Bound Ball," and "Long Distance" with vocalist Gaby Hernandez. 18 tracks total with beautiful artwork from Teebs himself. Recommended.
