Lab Overview

The much-anticipated third volume in the Fela Kuti box set series is here! Ambient pioneer and long time Fela admirer Brian Eno takes the honor of curating duties this time around, following sought-after volumes from Questlove and Ginger Baker. Eno selects 7 classic albums from the godfather of afrobeat's illustrious catalog including London Scene from '71, Shakara from '72, Afrodisiac and Gentleman from '73, Zombie and Upside Down from '76, and ITT from 1980, each of which gets a deluxe 180 gram pressing with faithfully reproduced pic sleeves and labels. If you're new to Fela Kuti's music, this release is the great place to start - for veteran fans, this is an opportunity to own some of the harder to find records on 180 gram wax in a deluxe, expertly packaged set. Also includes a 12 page full-color booklet with foreword by Eno, translated song lyrics, in-depth commentary by Afrobeat historian Chris May & photos from Bernard Matussiere, and beautiful fold-out poster. Limited to 2000 copies. Recommended.
