Debut studio album from pioneering reggae artist Augustus Pablo. This Is Augustus Pablo was originally released in 1974 and was a collaborative effort between Pablo and his childhood friend, acclaimed reggae producer Clive Chin. They recorded at Chin's Randy's Studio 17 with a lineup that included Jamaican heavy hitters Ansel Collins on keyboards and Lloyd Parks and Aston Barrett both on bass. This Is Augustus Pablo is notable as one of the first albums to feature Pablo's iconic melodica. He's probably the world's main champion of that instrument, but his musical skills extended far beyond that. His piano, organ and clavinet playing is featured alongside the melodica. The album would set Pablo up as one of the leading figures of the rebel rock movement. Includes the songs: "Pablo In Dub", "Lovers Mood", "Too Late", "Point Blank" and "Arabian Rock". Twelve tracks in all. Released by Get On Down on black vinyl housed in a gatefold sleeve.
