Lab Overview

When Funeral dropped in 2004, who would have thought this Montreal 7-piece would be releasing 12” disco records backed with instrumental versions just 13 short years later? “Everything Now” is the first taste of Arcade Fire’s upcoming fifth full-length of the same name. The entire album is co-produced by Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter and Pulp bassist Steve Mackey, and follows 2013’s Reflektor which was produced by James Murphy of DFA & LCD Soundsystem (maybe they’ll get Louie Vega or Ron Trent to do their next record, LOL jk). I don’t normally check for AF records, but the piano melody on “Everything Now” sounds a lot like Patrick Adams’ Harlem disco masterpiece “Disco Juice,” with a vocal reminiscent of Pulp’s Jarvis Cocker, so even I can get with this. Limited edition orange colored vinyl, housed in printed die-cut inner and outer sleeves.
