I'm glad to see that Para One still is keeping up his arctic "Dentyne Ice" look. It's a good one, and hasn't been cornered yet by anybody. In fact, the Institubes MVP has been doing a lot of things lately that people aren't used to. I've had the pleasure of seeing the man rip it live with nothing but sequencers and MIDI and it is INSANE. He's defintely an inspiration to DJs and a madness catalyst for drunk folks everywhere. "Midnight Swim(1)" is a fine example of his effects mastery. The freaky chords hit you like a phantom keyboardist while drums flip around unexpectedly, always keeping you on your toes. Just awesome. Plus, the single comes with remixes from heavy hitters Riton(2), Surkin(3) and Beckett & Taylor(4), each contributing their own unique styles, wasting no space on the wax for "throwaway" tracks. All three are worth their own single and should be previewed immediately! They all demolish the dancefloor, but if you really want to know, the Beckett & Taylor and Surkin mixes kill it. Not to mention that Surkin is like 18 or something, making him the Doogie Howser of the dancefloor. C'mish recommended.
