Confusion - Ricardo Villalobos Remix

R E V I E W
I must admit I was intrigued to hear this remix, seeing as I'm a fairly big Villalobos fan, and who doesn't enjoy a good New Order remix? But then I started to play it... and realized it's just an old Villalobos track ("Frank Mueller Melodram," from 1999) with the acapella and a few effects thrown over top of it. Sure, they edited up the track a little (taking out the awesome breakdown in the middle), but it's definitely NOT a real Villalobos remix. And if it is... fucking HELL dude... slack much? Don't get me wrong - the track is actually still enjoyable, and it's still going to get some massive deck time from a lot of people for the sheer brilliance of the underlying music coupled with the fantastic acapella of "Confusion," but it's really kind of a letdown, especially after how good Ricardo's remixes of Beck's "Cellphone's Dead" and Depeche Mode's "Conclave" were. Earth to whomever did the mashup: you're not going to get the credit OR the gigs from this, ol' Villaobos is. Shot yourself in the foot with this one, eh?
