Throwback import De La Soul pic sleeve 12" of their jumper "Potholes In My Lawn(1)" and "Jenifa Taught Me(2)." This was just coming out when I was in fifth grade and it was one of the joints that basically got me hooked on hip hop. Every day, it was De La in the Walkman, lookin' out for new joints to drop on Yo! MTV Raps with my hand on the VCR record button and memorizing lyrics. Prince Paul on the production is giving you the good good, especially on "Jenifa." Hoo-wee! That beat is hot! The drums remind me of Franski, the man responsible for "Doo Doo Brown" which is always the killer at the club. I think I'll remix this. And of course you get the instrumentals and comic interludes.
