Lab Overview

The 1980 sophomore release from The Specials. Released in quick succession to 1979's The Specials, More Specials saw incredible progression. The group branched out to different genres, expanded their guest appearances, and even incorporated a drum machine! The Specials always had an ear for hits. This features numerous single-worthy cuts including "Enjoy Yourself (two versions including, one with The Go-Go's), Do Nothing," the awesome James Brown-007 homage "Sock Em To Em J.B." and more. With truly wide musical scope (but still firmly rooted in their Punk-Ska roots), More Specials is a second cousin to London Calling (hammered home by the Mexican-themed "Holiday Fortnight"). This 180g pressing features a bonus 7" (featuring "Braggin' & Tryin' Not To Lie" and "Rude Boys Outa Jail (Version)") that was included with certain versions of the original 1980 pressing. Recommended.
