Lab Overview

Thievery Corporation has been doing dubby downtempo beats for years now, and with Culture Of Fear they prove they've truly mastered the sound. This is the 6th full length from the acclaimed D.C. duo (released on their own ESL imprint no less) and is everything you'd want and expect in a new TC album. It perfectly fuses worldly influences with reggae, latin, and funk with chilled downtempo beats and hazy lounge grooves as only TC knows how to do. Get reacquainted with the sound on "Web Of Deception," "Light Flares," and "False Flag Dub." There's even some guest raps this time around from Boston's Mr. Lif on the title track, plus deep soulful female vocals on tracks like "Take My Soul," "Stargazer," "Free," and the steamy "Is It Over?." 13 tracks, spread over 2LPs.
