Lab Overview

Deep Chicago style house from the up and coming Berlin based producer. We first heard from Palms Trax (aka Englishman Jay Donaldson) when he dropped the much in demand Equation EP, the inaugural release for the UK's Lobster Theremin imprint. That one had many heads checking for his next release and Forever did not disappoint. He's now moved over to Amsterdam based Dekmantel and the jams keep on coming. Donaldson is noted for his pad based excursions and none of the tracks disappoint. The title track rests its weight on the shimmering ambience Donaldson coaxes from his machines, but the drums and bass keep things moving. We're treated to more percolating arpeggios with "People of Tusk" as its nebulous synth lines have their way. "Sumo Acid Crew" makes no mistake about its mission. A fast moving acid line guides the track through sci-fi landscapes while wood blocks provide a sweet melodic counterpoint. This is a release worth your time.
