Lab Overview

Big record for the Hot Shot Sounds crew! Not quite sure how this came about, but Hot Shot co-founder Inkswel was able to team up with Merwyn Sanders. If you're not familiar, Sanders was part of Chicago's Vigor Four along with Eric Lewis. As they recently enjoyed a resurgence in popularity the duo parted ways. So it's great to see Sanders return to recording, providing his trademark vocals for three tight cuts from Inkswel. The Australian's production are heavy on the vintage drum machine work, with a nice abstract touch. A fitting platform for Sander's subdued vocals. The B side contains two heavy hitting remixes from Linkwood and Gifted & Blessed. Both remixes do their own thing with the "Eternal Freedom," priming the track for maximum dancefloor impact.
