Developed with Serato, this palm-sized cue point and looping controller has been designed to fit exactly where you need it: on your turntables, CDJs, mixer or laptop. Dicer always ships in pairs - one for each side. Plug Dicer in, slot it on your turntable/CDJ, and you can instantly set cue points and use them to trigger 'Hot Cues'. Or, flip Dicer into 'Auto-Loop' or 'Loop Roll' modes, to trigger loops, or 'roll' sections of the track to create climaxes, drops and glitchy breaks. Each 'mode' illuminates Dicer's pads a different colour, so you can instantly see what mode the pads in, even in dark clubs and venues.

Serato Scratch Live 2.1 will automatically map the Dicer to these functions and provide full LED feedback - red for Hot Cues, green for Loop Roll, and amber for Auto-Loop.

Dicer's buttons can also 'learn' other software functions. So, you can assign different FX to the pads, or trigger samples over the top of your mix, or even browse tracks in your iTunes library!

Dicer was designed by Novation in collaboration with Ean Golden - DJ and curator of DJ Tech Tools. Ean came up with the concept of a controller that fits on the turntable, and his contribution has been crucial in helping Novation design and develop Dicer.

Dicer does not come with its own software, it works in conjunction with Serato Scratch Live or other DJ software such as Traktor Scratch Pro.

OVERVIEW

The LaunchPad is an innovative USB controller custom designed for composition and performance in Ableton Live. With it 8x8 multi-color 64-button grid and dedicated scene launch buttons, Launchpad is purpose built for triggering and manipulating clips in Live. Empowered with Novation's unique Automap software, it can work to control almost any music/production software. It even includes a special "LaunchPad Edition" of Ableton Live 8 providing everything you need to start producing and performing in Live.

FEATURES

LaunchPad features a 64 button lighted grid and dedicated scene launch buttons that mimic the clip layout of Live. There are also volume, pans, sends, track aiming, solo, and muting available for all 8 channels at one with bi-directional communication between the unit and Live software via USB. The automap feature makes setup easy and also allows you to connect the LaunchPad to other software. You can even link up 6 LaunchPad units at the same time for 384 buttons of control! OUR OPINION

The LaunchPad is an excellent controller for Live users. It's simple and intuitive layout works perfectly with Ableton's workflow and it comes at a very competetive price (much more affordable than many other options). It is also considerably smaller than popular units like the APC40 making it easier to transport to gigs. Recommended.

Novation TWITCH is a DJ controller with a completely new take on DJing. The worlds of digital DJ and Controllerism are colliding; performers are looking for new ways to manipulate music. Instead of simply mixing tracks together with 'decks in a box', TWITCH re-focuses on cutting up beats, glitch-esque looping, firing off cue points and getting a totally different level of control over FX.
