The Alesis M1Active 320USBs are the first monitor spearkers with a built-in interface. This means you can play and record audio coming in thru your speakers (via 1/4", RCA + 1/8" inch inputs located on the back of the speakers) into the computer - no special drivers required. This is the most affordable way to get a pair of powered speakers (no amp or receiver required) AND a digital interface into your studio.

They boast a very loud output with 100 watts of power, a 38hz bass response which is specifically tailored for artists working in bass-heavy situations (hip hop, house, techno, almost any dance music), and an unparalleled accuracy for this price range. Studio monitors are mainly used as a gauge for mixing recorded tracks, and the first thing people will tell you to look out for when shopping for monitors is a flat response. The less "color" or distortion a monitor adds to your mix, the better a gauge it is be for how your tracks will actually sound outside of the studio. OVERVIEW

KRK's Rokit series offer accurate monitoring at a relatively affordable price. These are the G2 models and feature the things the Rokit's are famous for (front-firing bass port, soft-domed tweeter, glass aramid composite yellow cone) but with refined voicing and a new curved baffle that reduces diffraction and provides even better monitoring accuracy in small or large studios.

FEATURES

This is the Rokit 5 model and features a 5" glass aramiad composite woofer, an adjustable gain range of +6dB to -30dB, a recessed 1" neodymuim soft dome tweeter with wave guide, high frequency control to adjust for specific room accoustics, radically engineered curved surfaces for a wider "sweet spot," clean and accurate bass performance from front firing ports, and custom drivers in a bi-amplified that provides discrete low-distortion power for each driver. Rokit's are some the best selling monitors in the country, and for good reason. The combination of performance and price point make these a welcome addition to the studio. These 5 models are the smallest of the buch and would work well in any bedroom setup or small studio room. Recommended.

KRK's Rokit series offer accurate monitoring at a relatively affordable price. These are the G2 models and feature the things the Rokit's are famous for (front-firing bass port, soft-domed tweeter, glass aramid composite yellow cone) but with refined voicing and a new curved baffle that reduces diffraction and provides even better monitoring accuracy in small or large studios.

Rokit's are some the best selling monitors in the country, and for good reason. The combination of performance and price point make these a welcome addition to the studio. The 6 model features an added boost of power to the 5's for those that want a bit more bump. Recommended.

These speakers feature excellent sound quality, audio parameter control, built-in linear equalization and four switchable inputs, useful for DJs and producers who need to achieve the highest accuracy in musical reproduction. In addition, the S-DJ05 speakers offer users the ability to change settings such as sound characteristics and audio inputs via a unique manual controller.

Audio Quality

The compact speakers achieve a larger than normal listening area due to the use of a curved waveguide enclosure that directs the soft-dome tweeter's sound in a wider pattern for better imaging and staging. This means more listeners across a larger area of a room can hear the higher frequencies than with traditional designs. Additionally, the Bass Reflex enclosure extends the lower frequency range to provide more mid-bass and bass output. In order to reproduce the highest quality audio possible, the speakers are also equipped with strong high-force magnets for better control of the subwoofers, a low resonance chimney-style heat sink and a bi-amp circuit that drives the tweeter and woofer separately. Whether the speakers are utilized for DJing or producing music,the built-in linear equalizer provides further fine-tuning of sound for all listeners' tastes.
