The MPC series has been at the heart of studios around the globe for decades, and with the introduction of the newly updated 2012 line, Akai has ensured their place there for many years to come. The MPC FLY is the first to merge the legendary features and functionality of the MPC with the iPad 2 to create a fully integrated portable MPC solution.

The hardware features the renowned MPC "feel" with 16 genuine, velocity-sensitive, backlit pads with MPC Note Repeat and Swing and works seamlessly with Retronyms' MPC FLY iPad App for sequencing, editing, arranging, and more. The unit also is compatible with virtually any Core MIDI app so it can easily integrate with an existing studio setup. The MPC FLY App runs off the iPad and allows you to sequence four tracks simultaneously with a built-in four track mixer and timing correct, record and overdub, add effects (built-in), sample (from mic, line in, or iPod library), and export to Mac or PC for further work or mastering.

All of this is housed in a multifunction double-hinged case that custom fits iPad 2 and can be set to sit upright, lie flat, or close completely for ultimate portability. In addition, the MPC FLY also features and built-in lithium ion battery and charges your iPad when plugged into wall power. The MPC FLY truly gives you powerful MPC beat creating abilities on the go.
